POSITION SUMMARY The Controller will be responsible for
oversight of all finance, accounting, and reporting activities. The
Controller will lead all day-to-day finance operations and
supervise accounting staff members, including functional
responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts
receivable, and payroll. The Controller will ensure that ALCOVA
Mortgage has the systems and procedures in place to support
effective project implementation and conduct flawless audits. The
Controller will work closely with department heads, Branch
Partners, and their staffs to educate them regarding finance and
accounting procedures, and to explore how the finance function is
able to support operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reasonable

to perform the essential functions. 1. Oversee all accounts,
ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate
GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. 2. Guides financial
decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and
procedures. 3. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and
enforcing internal controls. 4. Maintain internal control and
safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, budgets, and actual
expenditures. 5. Coordinate all audit activity. 6. Consistently
analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate
and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and
annual financial statements; monitors progress and changes and
keeps senior leadership abreast of ALCOVAs financial status. 7.
Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting,
and reporting financial data. 8. Prepares special reports by
collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. 9.
Assist ALCOVAs leadership in the annual budgeting and planning
process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to
actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct
variances as appropriate. 10. Collate financial reporting materials
for Branch locations. 11. Manage organizational cash flow
forecasting by working in partnership with the Owners; continuously
collaborates with Branch Partners to assess the financial efficacy
of their operations and establish finance and administrative
systems to support such operations. 12. Manage and track the
performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and
investment guidelines. 13. Assure corporate income tax compliance.
14. Leverage strengths of the current finance team members in order
to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
15. Create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
16. Maintains appropriate financial staff work results by coaching,
counseling, and disciplining employees. 17. Participate in a wide
variety of special projects and compile a variety of special
reports. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE, AND COMPETENCIES 1.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent level
of knowledge through direct experience; MBA preferred. 2. CPA
certification preferred. 3. Five or more years of hands-on
high-level Senior Accountant accounting managerial experience. 4.
Extensive experience coordinating audit activities and managing
reporting, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger,
payroll, and accounting for investments. 5. Advanced knowledge of
accounting and reporting software and experience overseeing
accounting software installations and managing relationships with
software vendors; keeps up-to-date with new accounting and
reporting trends and software. 6. Ability and desire to translate
complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including
finance and non-finance managers. 7. Strong financial statement
experience. 8. Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and
retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate
accordingly. 9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
experience in effectively communicating key data, including
presentations to senior management. 10. Unquestionable ethical
behavior and credibility. 11. Demonstrates precision and accuracy
in work product; takes pride in departmental accomplishment.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. 12.
Able to understand and respond appropriately to basic inquires. 13.
Able to read, write, and communicate using the English language
sufficient to perform job functions. 14. Ability to use Company
equipment in assigned area including but not limited to telephone,
copiers, fax machines, computers, internet, etc. 15. Able to
access, input, retrieve, and interpret information using applicable
computer systems including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word,
Excel, Outlook, industry-specific computer software, etc. 16. Able
to multi-task, e.g., simultaneous usage of several applications,
etc. 17. Well-versed with keyboard shortcuts and able to identity
new ways to complete a task in less time. 18. Compliance with all
Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and
Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) requirements is required.
Employee must complete annual training in these areas. WORK
ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a clerical office setting;
climate-controlled surroundings with adequate lighting and little
or moderate noise when in the office. This role routinely uses
standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers,
filing cabinets and fax machines. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is largely
a sedentary role; however, some filing and photocopying is
required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing
cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
