Job Description

The Test Engineer is primarily responsible for developing new and improving existing system level integration and test (I&T) of all components of the enhanced night vision system, ensuring electrical and physical compatibility to meet product technical requirements. Serve as supporting role for product design, test and integration of electromechanical systems from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation and commissioning of the completed system. Investigate and implement solutions to product, process or test problems. Analyze requirements for integration and/or testability issues. Develop and implement both hardware and software system level test programs, plans, specifications, procedures and customer acceptance. Provide ongoing manufacturing support for electromechanical systems.

A successful candidate will have proficiency in setting up and automating system level testing of electrooptical devices, calibration of Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) and testing/evaluation of wireless/RF siginals. Have a full understanding and skills in effectively applying Six-Sigma tools to benefit the organization and customers. Additionally, the candidate will be fully versed in the Lean tools and their application to reduce waste. This is a hands-on engineering position. The individual can expect to spend > 50% of their time engaging directly with the factory teams to be most effective. Candidate will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required
2+ years of Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) experience
Ability to develop and document test activities and transition plans
Experience programming and troubleshooting computer and/or machine vision systems
Fluency in computer programming (Python, C++, C#, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Capable of performing process engineering tasks proportionate to their experience
PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Must have the ability to work effectively within a team
Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required
Ability to obtain Security Clearance
Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures

Preferred Skills
Experience with accelerometers and inertial measurement units
Ability to handle multiple high priorities; comfort with ambiguity
Six Sigma certification
Application of DMAIC and advanced statistical tools
Proficiency with statistical analysis software; Minitab, JMP, SAS
Ability to collaborate with all facets of the organization
Comfortable with self-initiating business and professional improvements
Ability to support the organizational culture and build morale
