Job Description:
This position is responsible for overseeing a comprehensive alumni relations program, including communications, social networking communities, events (on campus, virtual and regionally), benefits and services, volunteer management, and alumni career opportunities. Reporting to the Vice President, this individual develops and implements outreach to all alumni constituencies to maintain ongoing alumni communications and coordinates alumni outreach with other institutional advancement activities, integrated with all fundraising initiatives. Job Duties include:

  • Develops and oversees all alumni relations programs and services to keep alumni intellectually and emotionally connected to the College;
  • Oversee annual budget;
  • Responsible for planning and implementation of all alumni in person and virtual events;
  • Identify, cultivate and recruit alumni volunteers, including Alumni Advisory Council by recruiting members; meeting preparation and communication with members, and providing follow-up to all outcomes of meetings;
  • Oversees alumni communication, including filling the role of Managing Editor for Dean Magazine and e-Magazine, and social media engagement;
  • Personally meets with alumni throughout the year to advance the mission of the Office of Institutional Advancement;
  • Research, develop and work with current and new alumni affinity groups: classes, regions, schools, involvement, past leadership, and 50th Society;
  • Research and implement ways to share alumni success stories on campus and externally;
  • Work closely with partners across campus to engage alumni back to campus - including but not limited to Student Activities, Career and Internship Office, Admission Office, Athletics and Academic Affairs;
  • Serves as a member of the Institutional Advancement team and contributes on all matters related to alumni and family relations'
  • Other duties as assigned.
    • A bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline;
    • Master's degree preferred;
    • Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are alumni/ae of Dean College;
    • Prior experience in the areas of alumni relations, fundraising and event planning are essential;
    • The successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Candidates must have superior project management skills. S/he must demonstrate prior examples of superior organizational capability and the ability to work independently and as an integral member of a team;
    • This individual must be able to work, as needed, in support of all programs and events including those which occur on evenings and/or weekends.
