You will beresponsible for all aspects of the administration of our infant, toddler, and preschool programs located at the downtown YMCA and offsite at the Salem High School. The Early Learning Directoroversees program development, staffing, supervision, implementation, and evaluation. Qualifications Must meet Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Director qualifications. Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Ability to communicate, lead, and manage sensitive situations. Demonstrated supervisory skills including staff supervision, evaluation and support. Able to demonstrate appropriate knowledge of children's growth and development from infancy through kindergarten. Essential Functions Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information. Manages the early education program, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in the program; securing, scheduling, and maintaining the needed facilities; creating and scheduling the activities or events; and maintaining program records or files. Assures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate; ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed maintaining required documentation, records, permits and licenses. Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success. Maintains staff schedules and evaluates staff performance. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with staff, parents and caregivers, and community organizations (e.g., state child care licensing agency, school administration) to maximize program impact and drive overall outcomes; maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility. Oversee the creation and implementation of curriculum planning intended to achieve program goals that encourage each child's growth in the areas of emotional, social, cognitive and physical development. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided for all children and staff, and that all incidents are documented and reported appropriately. Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of related program equipment and recommending the purchase of new equipment and supplies. Lead as part of an active YMCA team by participating in Education Team meetings, professional staff meetings and duties, annual campaign support and ongoing trainings. Required Certifications Must complete MA Department of Early and Education and Care Fingerprinting requirement prior to first day of work. Must provide and maintain documents and certifications within the educator file as required by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Must complete all trainings/certifications and program orientation in accordance with the MA Department of Early Education and Care and the YMCA of the North Shore Training Plan.
