Job Description:

Blue Star NBR, a Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) chemical formulation and glove manufacturing company, is currently undergoing construction in Wytheville, VA. Blue Star NBR will be a fully integrated chemical facility using raw materials developed and formulated onsite to proudly supply American-made medical-grade NBR for use in the production of nitrile examination gloves.
Role: Plant Manager
Position Description: The Plant Manager leads the activities of all members of Plant Management staff, is primarily responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the employees, the environment and as appropriate the surrounding community. The Plant Manager will ensure that all operations are conducted per the requirements of a PSM facility and in accordance with all permits, applicable laws, and governmental regulations.
Responsibilities:

• Manage/supervise the Plant Management staff
  
• Coordinate government, regulatory, civic and local contacts, and communication
  
• Ensure operations are conducted consistent with the PSM requirements and all applicable regulations/laws
  
• Ensure the proper training and competency level of the workforce is maintained
  
• Oversee that product quantity and quality requirements are met
  
• Manage the overall plant/facility budget
  
• Ensure necessary business and operating policies and procedures are in place and maintained
  
• Provide for the periodic review/audit of business functions and facility operations
  
• Analyze data and provide reports and key findings to executive leadership
  
• Ensure continuous improvement and staff development programs are in place
  
• Communicate goals, objectives, and expectations to employees
  
• Conduct periodic Leadership Site Visits
  Qualifications:
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant discipline
    
  • Senior-level experience in the manufacturing industry
    
  • 10 plus years in a chemical plant environment
    
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a site leader managing 100 or more full time staff
    
  • Experience managing startup of a major new process or facility
    
  • Working knowledge of chemical plant batch process operations
    
  • Familiarity with Oracle and/or SAP business process management system
    
  • Sound understanding of production processes
    
  • Sound understanding of operating as a PSM facility
    
  • Familiar with hazard and risk management, work management, defect elimination, management of change and document management processes
    
  • Familiarity with failure analysis techniques, Five Whys, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
    
  • Strong knowledge of basic HSE programs
    
  • Strong communications skills
    
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint software skills
    
  • Strong aptitude for quantitative and analytical reasoning
    
  • High standards of professional ethics
