Serves as supportive point of contact for all new applicants to the
medical staff at any Carilion Clinic facility or Carilion
Ambulatory Practice (CAP) by facilitating the application process,
updating database information and obtaining required documents for
credentialing and privileging Liaises closely with Chairs and staff
of clinical departments, CCVS, Medical Staff Services, On Boarding
and Provider Enrollment to ensure effective communication of
processes and updates. Actively facilitates collection of
documentation to assist Chairs with Executive Summary. Actively
facilitates getting providers through the medical staff application
process such that credentialing and privileging can proceed
smoothly.
Collects, reviews for completeness and facilitates gathering of
provider background information, and copies of documents as
appropriate to provider credentialing and privileging for
appropriate designated areas of Carilion Clinic. Coordinates
responsibilities with recruitment, credentialing and enrollment
staff to assure timely and accurate completion of all paperwork, in
order to efficiently credential and privilege new providers for the
hospital medical staffs or CAP. Works with department Chairs /
Chiefs / Directors / Managers and or lead physicians to keep them
involved and aware of (i) new hire's progress with the application
completion process and (ii) changes in status in relation to
Carilion Clinic providers in general.
Interacts frequently with physicians, directors, managers, HR staff
and other members of the health care team. Maintains accessibility
throughout organization and in the community as a resource person.
Work is performed mainly in an office setting and involves use of
electrical equipment. Job is primarily performed during weekday
business hours with early morning, evening and weekend work
occasionally required. Potentially high demands on time from
multiple sources and need to shift priorities frequently. Some
travel is required. Must provide own transportation. Must maintain
applicant and employee confidentiality. Supports the culture of

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent 8 years of experience
required. Recruitment, On-Boarding, Credentialing or Medical Staff
Services preferred or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Experience: Minimum three years in healthcare setting. Experience
in education, management and/or physician services preferred.
Licensure/certification: Certified within an above specialty
preferred at time of hire. Must obtain certification within 4
years.
Other MInimum Qualifications: Possess excellent time management
skills and meets deadlines. Excellent oral and written
communication skills. Ability to think globally, communicate a
vision and work in a highly dynamic environment. Posesses knowledge
of the organization. Familiar with KRONOS and other organization
databases. Advanced computer skills with knowledge of a variety of
software programs, including word processing, spreadsheets and
presentation or database software. Must be self-directed,
detail-oriented and able to function independently of constant
supervision. Effective team player, friendly and flexible. Able to
handle confidential information. Focused on customer service. Able
to implement supportive and facilitative processes for our
physician group.
