Roanoke ,VA, US, 24016Job SummaryFull time Physician Assistant opportunity with Carilion Clinic Vascular Surgery. 100% office based working with two Vascular Surgeons in a very busy practice. Hours are 8 AM - 5 PM; no weekends or call.The Medical Specialty Physician Assistant has advanced knowledge and skills qualify her/him to function as a primary health care provider. She/he serves as a member of a collaborative health care team. This collaborative role includes responsibility for determining the patient's health and medical status by taking a health history; performing physical exams; initiating screening and diagnostic procedures; providing health maintenance services; and management of pregnancy, minor trauma, acute illnesses, and stable chronic illness. Consults with physician, as appropriate, keeping the physician informed of needs and problems related to patient care. Minimum QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.Experience: Clinical experience appropriate to specific practice/ department preferredLicensure/Certification: Current Physician Assistants license (PA) required. DEA licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced life support is preferred and is required for those who may use a defibrillator in their practice.Other: Meets credentialing requirements. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic's malpractice insurance carrier. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Maintains open and supportive communications between all department members and other employees, patients and their family members.
