Today!Job Summary and QualificationsWhat you will do in this role:
- You will be responsible for the execution of the organizational
methodology of labor allocation via scheduling and staffing of
employees
- You will create employee schedules and execute decisions on
staffing for organizational units within scope of
responsibility
- You will need to be an independent decision maker regarding the
development of daily labor allocation plans and actions to apply
the organization's staffing and scheduling policies
- You will work with the Shift Administrator to collaboratively
develop action items to facilitate efficient and effective
coordination of patient throughout and staffing
- You will need the knowledge and understanding of and the
ability to make scheduling decisions congruent with the scheduling
guidelines and organizational policies
- Mastery of all Information Systems associated with creating
nursing staff schedules and shift by shift staffing consistent with
the requirements of the respective unit/ specialty and / or
facility
- You will need to have the ability to validate competencies,
experience and or certification / licensure of staff being
scheduled
- You will need to understand the relationship between staffing
to core, average and peak as well as nurse to patient ratios
- You will ensure Staffing Grid accuracy
- You will need to demonstrate scheduling decisions to reflect an
understanding of productivity and financial efficiency
- You will need to demonstrate effective utilization of
Full-time, Part-tie, PRN and Contract Labor FTEs
- You will create reports (Incidental OT, Premium Pay, Fulfilling
Commitments, etc.) and assists with reviewing report with the
respective director
- Accurate documentation and data entry that reflects the
efforts, communications, and processes associated with developing
the final schedule
- You will monitor in real-time / daily/ unit productivity and
collaborates with unit leaders in meeting staffing needs and
productivity standards
- You will need to have the ability to forecast/project volume,
census, and acuity
- You will be required to maintain professional relationships
with internal and external customers
- You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills as
demonstrated by proactive communications with key customers and the
ability to establish realistic expectations and communicate
difficult decisions / information
- You will appropriately schedule resources to specific units /
specialties
- You will need to develop expertise, credibility and trust among
internal customer
- You will need to have the ability to appropriately prioritize
scheduling and staffing needs and request when creating the
schedule and staffing the units. -What qualifications you will
need:
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word & Excel is required. -
- Ability to readily master new software is required. -
- Developing collaborative and effective relationships with
hospital leader and managers is required. -
- Experience must be applicable to applying organizational
methodology of hospital labor allocation plans in order to develop
forecasts that support productivity and financial efficiency.

- Certification in scheduling and staffing is preferred. -
- Associates or Bachelor of Science in Business or other field
such as information systems, communication, etc. is preferred.
- Three to Five years as hospital staffing coordinator, workforce
analytics analyst or equivalent experience is preferred. - has
