Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Guaranteed Hours: Information not provided Experience: Level 1 experience required; Level 2 considered if from a large facility. Epic experience required. License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Certification Must-Have: COVID-19 and Flu Vaccines (Medical/Religious Exemptions only) Job Description: - Work in a 12-bed intensive care unit - Provide care to patients following vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, or stroke - Engage in complex therapies and treatments such as: - Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, CVP, continuous cardiac outputs) - Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) - Mechanical ventilation support - Pacemaker management - EVD drains (intracranial pressure monitoring) - Perform tasks in a certified stroke center environment - Use ISTAT lab values for patient assessment - Maintain a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio - Available to work 24/7, serving patients aged 18 and older - Orientation involves completing mandatory modules and Epic Fast Track modules Additional Information: - Must work at least one holiday per season (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) - Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility - Previous employees must be gone for a minimum of one year before returning as travelers The role provides an opportunity to work in a highly specialized, dynamic, and critical care environment.
