About The PracticeSeeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work with our General Surgery patients.Our APPs can see both new and established patient visits while working closely with physicians. Also, our physicians will be paired with a nurse to work alongside them in the office. This close collaboration assists in creating patient and physician ease and efficiency as well as providing continuity of care and attention to detail. Here at Bedford Memorial Hospital, we have a very low nursing turnover rate and boast a culture of warmth and a family friendly community.Prior surgical experience is desired..Responsibilities

• Communicate with core group of APPs and surgeons as well as other specialties
• Utilize Cerner EMR
• Variable day shifts including rotating weekend and holiday coverage
• Evaluate patients in clinic for routine post-op care and acute problems
• Round and perform consultations, progress evaluations, and discharges in the hospital
• Order diagnostic evaluations and medical therapies
• Coordinate care with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Perform minor procedures independently including wound care, ostomy care, I&Ds, suture and staple removal, punch biopsy, aspirations, feeding tube care
