Job Description:
Carilion Clinic is accepting applications for a Board-Certified
fellowship trained Radiologist to join the Department of Radiology
in Roanoke, Virginia as the Section Chief of Diagnostic Radiology.
Responsibilities of the Roanoke based section chief include
day-to-day management of the diagnostic Radiologists based in
Roanoke including worklist balancing, schedule management, and
problem-solving. Long term responsibilities include policy
creation, Radiologist recruitment/retention, scorecard/KPI design,
capital equipment evaluation/selection, and participation in the
department wide leadership council. This position has 20% protected
non-clinical time to perform the responsibilities of the section
chief position. Qualified candidates should have experience in team
building, mentoring, worklist management, change management, and
policy implementation. This position is 80% clinical and would
include interpretation of imaging studies within the candidate’s
field of fellowship training as well as interpretation of general
neuro/chest/body/msk radiograph/ultrasound/CT studies. Overnight
shifts are covered by teleradiology. Evening shifts and weekend
shifts are distributed evenly amongst the approximate 25 diagnostic
Radiologists based on FTE effort. Compensation is based on private
practice benchmarks (potential for $600,000.00) and includes bonus
opportunities based on quality-based scorecard performance as well
as clinical productivity. Benefits include 10 weeks paid vacation
per year, generous CME fund, employer funded pension plan, benefits
package, and paid malpractice insurance and tail. CRMH is a 763-bed
flagship hospital in Southwest Virginia, the third largest hospital
in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a designated level 1 trauma
center, and a designated Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The
Carilion system is composed of 7-hospitals including CRMH as well
as two critical access hospitals. All Radiologists based in Roanoke
have academic appointments at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of
Medicine and light teaching responsibilities for medical students
and non-radiology residents. CRMH and associated imaging centers
are state-of-the-art facilities with eight CT scanners (including
four dual-energy scanners) and six MRI scanners including three 3T
MRI scanners. Technology platforms include Sectra PACS, Powerscribe
360, EPIC EMR, and Syngo.Via/TeraRecon advanced image processing.
The Department of Radiology is composed of 33 Radiologists with
fellowship training in Neuroradiology, Body Imaging, MRI, MSK,
Interventional Radiology, Neurointerventional Radiology, and
