Chief of Dermatology & Mohs Surgery, Carilion Clinic and
Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine – Roanoke, VA: Carilion
Clinic (CC), Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM),
and the Department of Medicine, Section of Dermatology & Mohs
Surgery in Roanoke, Virginia are searching for a Chief of the
Section to lead an established team of 14 physicians and Advance
Practice Providers in an academic, multisite practice. The Carilion
Clinic – Virginia Tech Carilion Dermatology Residency welcomes 2
residents each year, has a 100% board pass rate since its
inception, and boasts a uniquely robust dermatopathology
curriculum. Teaching, research, and mentorship opportunities
abound. Faculty appointments are through the Virginia Tech Carilion
School of Medicine, a college of Virginia Tech. Additional research
opportunities exist through the Fralin Biomedical Research
Institute and VTCSOM medical students, with their 4-year
longitudinal research requirement. Across the street from the main
dermatology site is Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and
Children’s Hospital, our flagship 763-bed Level 1 trauma and
academic health center. We provide the highest level of
comprehensive dermatologic, cosmetic, and micrographic surgery &
dermatologic oncology to our catchment area of over 1 million

and Radford University. Requirements include: Current board
certification in Dermatology 5 years of progressive Dermatology
leadership in an academic setting with a rank of Associate
Professor or Professor Strong organizational, communication,
interpersonal, and leadership skills Experience with team building;
development of integrated collaborative models of care, education,
and research; and managing people and programs. Experience with
graduate medical education is preferred The Roanoke Valley is a

southern tip of Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley, surrounded
by the Blue Ridge Mountains, Appalachian Trail, and close to the
