Job Description ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Salem, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: /n/n Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. /n/n Opportunity: /n RN - PCU /n/n Job Details: /n • Work on 15-bed East Progressive Unit on 3rd floor of main campus /n• Patient ratios of 4-5 patients to 1 nurse /n• Day shift: Work with 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 Clinical Coordinator /n• Night shift: Work with 3-4 RNs and 1 PCT /n• Use Meditech EMR system /n• Work with cardiac telemetry, chest tubes, and cardiac drips (NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone) /n• Care for post cardiac catheterization patients, EP studies, device placements /n• Manage post-surgical patients including open heart, lung, general surgery, and orthopedic patients requiring cardiac monitoring /n• Handle groin management, chest tubes, critical drips, epidurals, and PCA pumps /n• Float to ICU (taking PCU type patients), PCU, and Med-Surg units (taking 5 patients) /n• Work every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts /n• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS /n• Must have PCU experience and knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients /n• Must be skilled in chest tube management and epidurals /n• Dress code: Navy or white scrubs, can mix or match /n• Must be outgoing, team-oriented, and willing to go above and beyond for patients /n• Must demonstrate strong teamwork ability and time management skills with high patient turnover /n/n Facility: /n This medical center is a comprehensive healthcare facility that provides progressive care services with a focus on cardiac and surgical patient care.
