Nursing Job Details - Location: Salem, Virginia 24153 (Roanoke
Valley) - Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 15 beds
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026) -
Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) - Hours per Week:
36 - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts
per schedule - Dress Code: Navy or white scrubs (mix or match) -
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1840-$1980 Registered Nurse
Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - BLS & ACLS
certifications (required) - Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive
Care Unit (PCU) experience - Proficiency in cardiac rhythm
interpretation and management of surgical patients - Experience
with chest tube management and epidurals - Familiarity with
Meditech EMR preferred - Strong teamwork and time management skills
PCU Nurse Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality nursing care to
PCU patients, including post-cardiac cath, electrophysiology
studies, device placements, and post-surgical patients (open heart,
lung, orthopedic, and general surgery) - Monitor and manage cardiac
drips (NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone) and other critical drips -
Perform chest tube management, groin management, and care for
patients with epidurals and PCAs - Collaborate with a
multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient
outcomes - Float as needed to ICU (PCU-level patients) and Med-Surg
units - Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR -
Demonstrate excellent communication, adaptability, and a
