Job Description:
Offering an exceptional opportunity, Carilion Clinic (CC) and
the Department of Surgery, Section of Otolaryngology – Head and
Neck Surgery in Roanoke, Virginia are searching for a fellowship
trained pediatric otolaryngologist to join our growing team of nine
otolaryngologists, seven advanced care practitioners, four
audiologists and one hearing instrument specialist in a
clinic-based, academic program with remarkable opportunities in
teaching, research, and clinical otolaryngology. This is a great
opportunity to join a dynamic, academic multi-specialty group
practice providing comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care for
adults and children. Carilion Children's Hospital serves as the
tertiary referral center for 185,000 children in southwest Virginia
and provides a full range of pediatric services including the only
designated Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center west of Richmond.
Carilion Children’s is located within Carilion Roanoke Memorial
Hospital, a 763- bed teaching/tertiary care center, and is
comprised of an 8-bed PICU, a 27-bed inpatient unit, a 60-bed
NICU/intermediate nursing unit, and a 27 bed Pediatric Emergency
Department. Ground and air transportation services are provided by
a pediatric critical care transport team. Our otolaryngology
section provides comprehensive coverage to over one million people
in a large, rural, multi-state area and several other Carilion
hospitals, including Carilion New River Valley Medical Center,
Carilion Giles Community Hospital, and Carilion Franklin Memorial
Hospital. The section operates clinics in three satellite locations
in the region, with plans to open two additional sites in the
future. Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad, and our
otolaryngologists perform the full breadth of procedures of all

relationship with Virginia Tech. The position requires an academic
appointment at VTCSOM. Other requirements include: MD/DO, Board
Certification/Eligible in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery
Fellowship Training in Pediatric Otolaryngology Evidence of strong
communication and interpersonal skills Interest in teaching and/or
