Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: /n/n Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. /n/n Opportunity: /n RN - Med Surg /n/n Job Details: /n • Work on a 36-bed medical surgical unit with 55 employees /n• Patient ratio of 1:6 /n• Work with post-operative patients /n• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and drain management /n• Maintain and manage patient drains /n• Provide care for post-operative patients /n• Day shift staffing includes 1 clinical coordinator, 6 RNs, 3 techs, and 1 unit secretary /n• Night shift staffing includes 1 clinical coordinator, 6 RNs, and 2 techs /n• Work with Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs /n• Use Meditech EMR system /n• BLS certification required /n• Experience with post-operative patients preferred /n• Competency with dressing changes, wound care, and drain management preferred /n• Must be a team player with positive attitude /n• Strong patient advocacy skills required /n• Ability to work in fast-paced environment /n• Dress code requires navy blue or white scrubs /n• No hoodies, pull-overs, or t-shirts allowed /n/n Facility: /n This medical center operates a high-performing medical surgical unit that has achieved top patient experience scores as measured through HCAHPS.
