ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM • Patient ratios of 1:5 (goal is 1:4 but consistently work at 1:5) • Weekend requirement: Either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block • Must work one holiday per 13-week contract • Epic charting system experience required • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Care for adult and geriatric patients on Cardiac Observation unit • Primary focus on chest pain management, expedite ER flow, rule in/out MI • Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, activate Rapid Response/Code teams • Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration • Manage central/peripheral line care • Administer and manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix - no titration) • Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen delivery, non-invasive airway management • Remote telemetry with monitors on unit, tele sitting implemented • Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical units • High patient turnover unit with 20 beds • Overflow for cardiology and medicine PCU, occasional post-cath patients • 1 year of nursing experience required • First-time travelers accepted Facility: This is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital serving as the flagship facility of a major healthcare system.
