ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM • Weekend requirement: either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block • Must work one holiday per 13-week contract • Self-scheduling system • Patient ratio 1:4-5 (must be comfortable with 1:5 ratio) • 48 hours of orientation • EPIC charting experience required • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • 1 year of nursing experience required • Care for adult patients with neurological conditions including neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, and medical overflow • Manage 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring • Required to float to units within clinical skillset • Clinical skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central/peripheral line care, medication administration, cardiac drips (no titration), and respiratory support • Must participate in Rapid Response and Code teams • Accept first-time travelers and pending licenses from non-compact states • Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks Facility: This 703-bed acute care teaching hospital serves as the flagship facility of a major healthcare system and is the region's only Level I Trauma Center.
