Registered Nurse (RN) | Oncology Location: Winston Salem, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,122 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: RN - Oncology Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Required Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement) Must-Have: OCN preferred Description: The RN in Oncology is responsible for providing care to patients. Patients may include those in Hematology/Oncology, GYN Oncology, and Surgical Oncology. The average patient ratio is 1:4-5 for RNs and 1:9-10 for CNAs. Skills required include venipuncture and IV insertion. Central line access and care are also essential. Wound and skin care management is a key responsibility. Monitoring lab values and infection prevention are crucial components of the role. The RN will manage nausea, vomiting, and mucositis in patients. Transfusion of blood products as needed is required. Support within the department includes CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, and RT available 24/7. Central telemetry monitoring is utilized for patient care. Floating within the cancer center and to any medical-surgical unit within the facility may occur. Weekend rotation is required every other week. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. RTO is allowed up to 7 days but must extend to accommodate a full 13-week duration. Shift times vary between day and night. The schedule follows a cycle of every 6 weeks.
