seeking a Surgical Technologist II – Main OR for a top healthcare
client. This position plays a key role in supporting surgical teams
and ensuring safe, efficient operating room procedures. The
Surgical Technologist II works under the supervision of a
registered nurse or physician to maintain sterile technique, manage
instrumentation, and assist in high-quality perioperative patient
care. Job Responsibilities Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical
field in accordance with policy and regulatory standards.
Accurately identify and pass surgical instruments and supplies to
the surgeon during procedures. Participate in sponge, needle, and
instrument counts per facility protocol. Collaborate with nursing
and surgical staff to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
Follow all infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital
policies. Support orientation and educational initiatives within
the surgical department. Participate in quality improvement and
departmental activities. Requirements Education High school diploma
or equivalent required Completion of an accredited surgical
technologist training program required Military surgical technology
training accepted Experience Previous experience preferred but not
required Certifications/Licenses Certified Surgical Technologist
(CST) credential required Active registration with the Virginia
Department of Health Professions (or ability to obtain) Basic Life
Support (BLS) certification required Skills or Competencies Strong
attention to detail and sterile technique Excellent teamwork and
communication skills Ability to perform efficiently in
high-pressure environments Commitment to patient safety and quality
