The Officer Dining Room Cook accurately and efficiently prepares and serves a variety of food items in accordance with assigned work instructions and menus. This position also utilizes a variety of food preparation utennsils and machines in preparing food. Our ideal candidate is awesome at the following: For 1 meal per day: Prepares, cooks, and serves staff of the facility, in a buffet setting. This meal will follow client's policies and procedures With guidance from the Food Service Director: Produces a weekly dining menu for facility staff members. This menu will fall within budget parameters and dietary necessities. Ensures the overall satisfaction of staff dining experience. In addition: Maintains product rotation. Monitors, stocks, and supplies items needed in the staff dining room. Assists with various catering functions throughout the year. Supervises inmate staff for the production of additional meals. Ensures inmate compliance with the client's policies and procedures. Oversees preparation and production of inmate staff meals. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards. Assists with various others tasks as assigned by the Food Service Director. Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Prep and Prepare, assist, of a variety of food items in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions
• Follow assigned facility housekeeping and safety practices in all preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals
• This position is specific to meal planning, preparation and cooking of meals for the staff at the facility Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED is required, and you must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to pass pre-employment (post offer) Company or Facility background check and drug screening Preferred Requirements:
    • Prior institutional food service, restaurant, cafeteria experience is necessary
