Job Description:
The Web Developer will collaborate with designers, stakeholders,
writers and others to create accessible, clean, well functioning
front-end code, and manage content for websites related to
principal giving, and corporate and foundation giving. This
includes vt.edu/link, give.vt.edu, and future sites dedicated to
engaging with potential donors and industry partners. Working with
a dynamic team, the Web Developer will build and maintain
mobile-first landing pages and websites in the Adobe Experience
Manager content management system (CMS) to be used by vt.edu, and
other constituents around the university. Our audiences are
increasingly engaged online, and the Web Developer can help bring
our mission to life through a beautiful web presence. The ideal
candidate will show initiative in solving problems, and will work
well as a member of a team or as a lead. The ideal candidate is a
creative thinker, who approaches projects with the end user in
mind. The team thrives in a process-driven environment, using
elements of Scrum and Agile methodologies to prioritize and
innovate digital products. However, our culture also includes the
possibility for quick turnaround projects, reacting to strategic
opportunities, and at times improvising to get the job done.
Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science,
communications or creative field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience managing and producing web content Knowledge of HTML,
CSS, and JavaScript. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with
developing code that meets accessibility standards. Experience with
responsive web design and responsive email design. Experience with
Subversion, GIT or similar version control system. Experience with
Adobe Experience Manager. Experience with Agile workflow for
development. Experience with template design for a content

Hybrid role: A regular work schedule that typically allows employee
to work 3 to 4 days on-site (on VT property), to balance the
