Primary Objective: In broad terms, briefly state the major
purpose of primary objective of this position.
Develops and coordinates production schedules for the assigned
area to maximize output and enhance customer satisfaction levels
with "on time" shipments while meeting established Company goals.
Job duties are subject to minimal supervision, performing within
general policies or specified objectives within assigned area
Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements,
describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope
of the function as appropriate.
* Develops production schedules for assigned departments based
on customer orders and delivery requirements through assigning
production orders to available machines in a manner that provides
both maximum output and consistency with Company goals. In
addition, may schedule rework and special orders. * Establishes
effective communication with various groups such as customer
service, sales team, and plant production departments to ensure the
on-time completion of products through monitoring order status from
start to finish. * Expedites materials for production as needed to
meet deadlines. Assists in maintaining the amount of raw materials
inventory necessary to meet planned production schedules. Tracks
the flow of materials through the assigned areas. * Adjusts planned
production schedules as necessary when order dates cannot be met,
which normally includes preparing alternate schedules. * Reviews
status and recommends use or disposition of aged, slow moving, or
obsolete materials. * Performs other duties as required.
Type of Experience and Knowledge:
Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision: Describe
the education, knowledge required, years of experience, specific
skills and abilities required to do the job on a fully competent
High School Diploma or GED equivalency required and a minimum of
2 years of job specific work experience, or an equivalent
combination of education and training that provides the knowledge,
skills, and abilities to perform the job.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems.
Knowledge of company brands and product specifications.
Competencies: Describe the specific skills required for this
position in terms of technical, managerial, interpersonal skills
and unique abilities.
* Good oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated
ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in
the organization and external business contacts. * Good PC skills
including MS Office Package, internet, and internal Company
hardware and software. Accurate typing and data entry skills
required. * Good organizational skills with the ability to manage
time effectively. Ability to schedule and prioritize work,
identifying potential problems and implementing solutions before
they occur. * Ability to work independently and efficiently under
conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to
facilitate the production of a large volume of high quality
material with attention to detail.
