This position won't last long, Apply Today!JOB DESCRIPTIONINTERCEPT HEALTH Job Title: CSAC Supervisee or CSACDepartment: True North ClinicReports To: CSAC Supervisor and Director of Psychiatric and Substance Abuse ServicesFLSA Status: ExemptPrepared By: Human Resources ManagerApproved Date: August 2021Summary: The CSAC Supervisee or CSAC is responsible for clinical and administrative activities relating to outpatient substance abuse referrals, providing substance use case management, group counseling, working with individuals, families, couples who are impacted by addiction. Services may be provided through Tele Services as well as through face to face direct contact. Education: CSAC Supervisee who has met the requirements to apply for CSAC Supervisee and is working towards certification. Or, a CSAC who is certified by the Virginia Board of Counseling to practice in accordance with the provisions of the Code of VirginiaExperience: Clinical experience working with individuals who are impacted with addiction. Experience with Case Management as well as the ability to work within the community providing supports to connect individuals to services and resources to assist with overall health and wellbeing. A general knowledge of therapeutic modalities as well as how to use and implementation of evidence-based practice models identified for outpatient substance abuse services programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Ensure clinical documentation compliance (completion of initial screenings, diagnosis at intake for billing requirements utilizing DSM-V and ASAM criteria, session documentation, services plans/reviews if required by insurance, discharge planning and recommendations, any other forms/documentation required by insurance provider for reimbursement or ethical documentation of services).
    • Utilize effective listening skills to establish rapport with patients, groups, couples, and family members to provide emotional support/encouragement, and engage family members in the service process.Provide individual case management sessions and group counseling sessions along with completing the required supporting documentation within your scope of practice that is recommended by the Virginia Board of Counseling and approved by the supervising Licensed Mental Health Professional.
    • Initiate and provide ongoing communication with service professionals and attendance in Treatment team meetings to ensure coordination of care.
    • Provide crisis intervention as necessary during available hours. Educate patients on/implement alternative crisis contacts and planning as needed if therapist not available, and continually assess clients for increased service needs.
    • Provide support and communicate effectively when transitions occur between services. Prepare clients and families for discharge as well as recommend higher levels of care when needed.
    • Conduct and prepare written diagnostic assessments, assessing patients from multiple perspectives (family functioning/psychological/emotional/social/academic/medical/behavioral/substance abuse/strengths/treatment history, etc.).
    • Furnish additional assessments/evaluations within scope of expertise.
    • Utilize various assessment instruments as needed within scope of expertise.
    • Meet with/provide treatment to patients as necessary to ensure success.
    • Provide regular monitoring for patients to include assistance with learning and carrying out necessary treatment goals.
    • Develop and implement treatment plans with the help of the Licensed Mental Health Professional as needed, and document case activities within/outside of therapy sessions for all services, clinical standards and billing purposes.
    • Maintain an awareness of their areas of expertise, and an ability to staff or refer a case elsewhere if it becomes too complex or falls outside one's appropriate scope of practice. (Refrain from engaging in specific therapeutic interventions that require separate certification and or licensure).
    • Participate in Supervision sessions to work towards licensure or maintain licensing requirements.
    • Notify Supervisor of any significant client medical complaint(s), unusual events, accidents, medical problems, property damage or maintenance concern, etc. occurs. Evidence of 60 hours of required coursework for approval for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia, if applicable. Certification of LMHP, in the Commonwealth of Virginia, if applicable. LPC or LCSW. Evidence of Residency in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work, registered with the appropriate Board and receiving ongoing clinical supervision towards licensure with appropriate licensed provider, if applicable. Evidence of CSAC Certification by the Virginia Board of Counseling to practice, if applicable.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
