Currently we service a multi-state area as the largest independent produce distributor in Virginia and our team continues to grow. Position Summary: The Order Selector Night Shift performs several duties including selecting and packing warehoused items for customer orders, warehousing received merchandise, and performing duties related shipping/receiving assignments. Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Safely and efficiently operate power material handling equipment to accurately select, palatalize, stage, and/or load orders for delivery to customers · Use voice activated headset to properly select warehoused items to complete customer orders. · Properly stack/load pallets according to required stacking & loading procedures · Shrink wrap pallets · Rotate stock in slots to achieve FIFO (first in, first out) · Works in a safe manner, reports all accidents and incidents immediately, follows all safety rules and regulations according to company and governmental standards, and attends safety meetings and trainings · Adheres to attendance standards – reports to work on time, works the entire scheduled shift, and follows proper call-out procedures · Work assigned shift as scheduled, including overtime, holidays and weekends · Comply will all company policies and procedures · Adheres to all Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements · Treat everyone (co-workers, vendors, visitors, customers, etc.) with dignity and respect · Interacts with all team members with courtesy and professionalism · Performs general housekeeping duties · Performs other duties as assigned Skills & Experience: · Must be 18 years of age · High school or equivalent education · Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and follow verbal instructions · Must have previous pallet jack equipment experience · Previous experience in warehouse environment preferred · Accuracy and attention to detail are required · Previous experience with RF Picking system helpful Physical Demands: The physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Regularly lift up to 50 pounds independently and frequently. Position requires frequent bending, lifting, climbing, twisting, turning, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, eye/hand coordination, sitting, standing, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, comprehending and more. Warehouse temperatures vary from department to department and will also fluctuate seasonally. Examples range from 34-degrees (refrigerated cutting areas) up through whatever the current outdoor temperature. Employee might have occasion to access the freezer section as well. Layering of clothing in these areas is required. Some areas of the warehouse are wet due to the nature of the business. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
