How You'll Help Transform Healthcare: The Mental Health Therapist provides therapeutic services to patients and their families who are impacted by Addiction. Services include provision of initial assessment, -individual, family and group therapy. Works as a member of the multidisciplinary team. The responsibilities of the Mental Health Therapist include, but are not limited to, the following. Assesses patient's need for non-medical services within the parameters of the treatment plan. Works as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Provides individual, family and group therapy. Develops and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients in the individual, family and group setting. Coordinates the patient's treatment with the multidisciplinary treatment team, patient's family, referral source and aftercare provider. Makes appropriate discharge plans. Records patient data in the medical record to include the psychosocial assessment, group, family and individual progress notes and discharge plans/appointments. Works cooperatively with other members of the clinical and treatment team, provides coverage and arranges coverage when needed. Observes and documents data reflective of the patients' status, interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age and specific needs, and provides the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures What We Require: Education: Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field required Experience: One to three years of experience in the mental health profession. Licensure/Certification: -Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) in state of Virginia -required Other: -Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required.
