LPN opportunity on 6W-Cardiac Progressive Care Unit will focus heavily on assisting with admissions and discharges to facilitate throughput. Hours are primarily evening/night shift hours, flexible schedule. Relocation allowance available.The Cardiac Clinical Decision Unit is a 20 bed Progressive Care Unit under the Cardiovascular Institute that specializes in the care and well-being of our Cardiac and Medical- Cardiology patients to include short stay observation and inpatient cardiology patients. Our patient population includes diagnoses such as Acute Myocardial Infarction, Hypertensive Crisis, Unstable Angina, Arrythmias and Congestive Heart Failure as well as post procedural patients such as Cardiac Catheterization, Pacemakers and Left atrial appendage procedures.Our nurses are critical care trained to include ACLS within your first year of employment. We will provide a tailored orientation program to meet your learning needs. The Cardiac Decision Unit has a foundation focused on teamwork, professionalism, respect and providing excellent patient care. We welcome you to join our team!Practices practical nursing within the parameters set forth in Carilion Clinic's Plans for the Provision of Patient Care and functions under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. Partners with the RN in collecting data, planning, implementing and evaluating patient/resident care. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients/residents served.Participates in the nursing process for patients of all ages served.Contributes to the development of the patient/resident database and interdisciplinaryplan of care. Identifies patient/resident/family/caregiver educational needs, incorporates into theplan of care, implements, and documents. Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care forpatients/residents.Implements prescribed therapeutic treatment plan and procedures. Administers prescribed medication to patients/residents. Demonstrates the role of patient advocate, protector of patient's rights, and providerof psychological/social/cultural support.Contributes to Carilion's performance improvement activities and demonstrates supportof service area/facility/organization initiatives.Contributes to the orientation and career development of others.What We Require:Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.Experience: None required.Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Virginia. Must obtain/maintain AHA BLS-HCP. In Psychiatry and Behavioral Health de-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained going forward.Other Minimum Qualifications: Specific experience and certifications may be listed in service line specific addendums to this job description. Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements.
