Martin Travel has an exciting opportunity working in our Blacksburg, VA office, with some training and working rotating Saturday's in Roanoke, VA. This is a full time position working 40 hours per week. Work schedule is typically 8:30-5:30pm, with an hour lunch. You will also work rotating Saturday's (once every 2 or 3 weeks) from 10-2pm. In this role, you will represent Martin Travel and the AAA brand and associated products and services in initial contact with customers walking in or calling into a travel branch. You will support Travel Agents by completing administrative tasks associated with booking travel and ensuring payments are received and processed. Job Description The primary duties of the Martin Travel Support Agent are: --- Answer telephones, identify needs, direct calls to multiple offices or take messages and ensure all visitors are greeted in a pleasant, prompt and professional manner --- Answer general inquiries, as appropriate --- Provide general clerical support to the agents in all branches --- Make deposits, order supplies and brochures, get mail daily --- Invoice leisure packages & process online leisure payments or request a check for payment --- Order and pay CSA travel protection insurance for clients --- Send out final payment reminders to clients --- Acquire airline seat assignments --- Process travel documents by gathering traveler specific documents and attaching to itineraries for clients --- Various other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: --- Ability to respond to customer inquiries and interact with individuals at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school degree or equivalent and six months of business experience in a public contact role. --- Experience operating a switchboard or multi-line telephone console preferred (telephone receptionists). --- Effective communication skills, written and oral, to allow accurate completion of paperwork and constructive interaction with others. --- Basic proficiency with computer software programs and the Internet.
