Job Description:
Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at Virginia Tech located in
Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a Manager of Microscopy Facilities.
The successful candidate will direct confocal microscopy core
facilities at the FBRI. The director will serve a critical role by
maintaining equipment and providing training, usage and image
analysis support to researchers using laser-based confocal
microscopy at FBRI. This is a great opportunity for someone
interested both in working across multiple modalities of biological
imaging and in working with, training, and providing service
support to leading teams of biomedical researchers interested in
neuroscience, cardiovascular science, cancer biology. Required
Qualifications - MA/MS degree in Biology or related field.
Education with Curriculum and Instruction, appropriate imaging or
related fields. - Significant management experience maintaining
equipment and providing training, usage and image analysis support
to researchers using laser-based confocal microscopy . -
Significant experience with management of laser-based microscopy
core facilities. - Comfort with supervisory responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications - PhD in Biology or related field.
Overtime Status Exempt: Not eligible for overtime Appointment Type
